The Rise of Jantar Mantar
Today I was thinking about a very popular thing: Jantar Mantar, not in context to the real jantar mantar but related to
something new to which we can relate in today’s era. But before
discussing about a thing I always try to analyse its history. So let us grab a
quick recap of Jantar Mantar.
We popularly recognize jantar mantar as place of doing dharna,
historical piece located in delhi, but jantar mantar has great history
(scientific and astronomical) attached to it.
There are 5 Jantar Mantar Monuments in India located in New
Delhi, Jaipur, Varanasi, Mathura, Ujjain. Largest one is in Jaipur. The jantars have names like Samrat Yantra, Jai Prakash, Ram Yantra and
Niyati Chakra, each of which are used to for various astronomical calculations. These astronomical observatories were built Sawai Jai Singh II in around 1724.
But why these observatories
were built? As History is all about interpretation, so according to me there is
only reason to build these and that is Curiosity.
It is curiosity of human mind which led to creation of these tools to measure
the universal acts.
Anyways what’s
the present scenario? The Jantar Mantar’s have become a place of doing
protests.
We hear periodic news of protest being conducted there. But no, Jantar Mantar are not just peice of ancient site or place of doing protest. Jantar Mantar is more than this. Jantar mantar is an idea which is helping humans to evolve. The idea which fills future with advancements.
Did not get what i am talking about?
I am talking about the technology we are using and the more advanced tech which we'll be using tomorrow.
Lets me explain. The present tech is mainly based upon two main things:
1. Hardware 2.Software.
Now consider, Jantar as hardware part(Equipment, Tools etc. ) and Mantar as the power behind the hardware i.e the logic, software, science which gives power to the Jantar. So it becomes Jantar and Mantar. This word has nothing relative to my interest but it's an idea in which we live in.
It is really interesting to thing this human evolution with an idea of Jantar And Mantar (The indefinite future).

ROAD TO ENGINEERING
Every year about 14 lakh
students appear for JEE mains. After the ranks are ready they try to get a good
college. This is the moment where students have to choose a college X over Y
and so is the confusion between different branches. Yeah it is right that a
good and reputed college gives you a lot of exposure but the critical factor
which decides your future is the stream chosen by you. Many students don’t even
know what things they are going to study under their chosen stream. They just
follow what other students do. You get a lot of time after your exams to
research about different streams. Many students decide a particular stream on
the basis of its scope. But according to me every stream has an equal scope.
The main factor on which you should opt for a branch is your interest. My
article will give you knowledge about main branches of engineering which will
generate an idea in your mind about what you are going to study in coming four
years.
Computer science
It includes the design and control
of computing devices with the application of electrical systems. It covers both
software and hardware engineering. Software engineering is the
study of designing, implementing and modifying software. Computer software is
simply a set of instructions that directs a computer processor to perform
specific functions. You can become a computer programmer. A computer programmer
writes codes for many kinds of software.
Computer science
Hardware engineering includes designing developing and
testing various computer equipment. It can range from circuit boards and
microprocessors to routers.
Artificial intelligence is a new and interesting sub
discipline which aims at developing programs such as problem solving, decision
making, environmental adaptation, learning and communication found in humans
and animals.
Electronics & communication
It is a discipline which uses
electrical components such as electron tubes and semiconductor devices such as
transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors and integrated circuits to make
printed circuit boards. It includes optical engineering under which you can
make instruments and systems that utilizes the properties of electromagnetic
radiations.
There are many sub-fields under it:
1. Signal processing:
It deals with analysis: and manipulation of signals. Signal can either be
analog or digital. It involves modulation, demodulation, amplification and
error checking.
2. Telecommunications: It
is the exchange of information over several distances by electronic means. It
deals with transmission of information across a channel such as a co-axial
cable, optical fire or free space.

3. Control
engineering: It is a discipline that applies control theory to design
systems with desired behaviors. It has a wide range of applications from flight
and propulsion systems of commercial Airplanes to the cruise control present in
many modern day cars.

4. VLSI design
engineering: It stands for very large scale integration. It deals with
fabrication of IC's and various electronic components.
Electrical & electronics
It is a field of engineering that
generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and
electromagnetism. It deals with generation, transmission and distribution of
electricity as well as the design of related devices. Many sub disciplines are
related to ECE. Electrical engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the
manufacturing of electrical motors, radar and navigation system, communication
systems, or power generation equipment . Electrical engineers also design the
electrical systems of automobile and air-crafts. Electronics engineers
design and develop electronic equipment, such as broadcast and communications
systems, from portable music players to global positioning systems (GPS). Many
also work in areas closely related to computer hardware.

Information
Technology is an engineering division, which concentrates on the study of
utilizing computers and telecommunications in order to control, gather, store
and circulate information. Both software and hardware sectors are parts of
Information Technology. Due to the importance and reputation of IT, the present
age is sometimes referred to as information technology age. IT represents a
vast category of career options that are based on processing, designing,
developing, managing or supporting computer and web-based technologies and
devices that constitute an IT network. The modern world is entirely
IT-dependent with Information Technology applications present in nearly every
aspect of our lives.

Mechanical
It comprises the design, analysis
and usage of heat and mechanical power for the operation of machines and
mechanical systems. This field is concerned with manipulation and control of
vibrations, especially vibration isolation and reduction of unwanted sounds. An
interdisciplinary branch thermal engineering is concerned with heating and
cooling of processes and equipment. The design, manufacture and operation of
systems and equipment that propels and controls vehicles also come under this.

Mechatronics
It is a hybrid of mechanical and
electronics. An industrial robot is a prime example of mechatronics.

An emerging variant of this
field is bio-mechatronics whose purpose is to integrate mechanical parts
with a human being, usually in the form of removable gadgets such as an exoskeleton.

engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology with management
science. A production engineer typically has a wide knowledge
of engineering practices and is aware of the management challenges
related to production. Production engineering encompasses the application
of castings, machining process, joining process, metal cutting and tool design,
machine designing and manufacturing.

It
includes the design and development of aircraft and air control systems. It is
a division of aerospace engineering which focuses on applying physics,
mathematics and other disciplines in order to construct an aircraft. Aeronautical
engineers work to make sure propulsion systems operate efficiently and that
aircraft's aerodynamic performance is sufficient.
Chemical
It is the application of physical
and biological sciences to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals
into more useful or valuable forms such as medicines, soaps, petrochemical,
paper, plastics, nuclear weapons etc. Sub disciplines:
1. Bio-molecular
engineering: It focuses on the manufacturing of bio-molecules.
2. Molecular
engineering: It focuses on the manufacturing of molecules.
3. Process
engineering: Focuses on design, operation, control and optimization of
chemical processes.
Biotech
It is a combination of biology and
technology in an applied science. You can
pursue Bioinformatics, an application of biotech and an interdisciplinary field
that solves biological problems using computational techniques. Another option
is Bio-medical Engineering, which uses engineering expertise to analyze and
solve problems in Biology and Medicine, providing an overall enhancement of
healthcare. This branch is linked with medicine, agriculture and food. You can
do research in genetics.

Textile engineering courses deal
with the application of scientific and engineering principles to the design and
control of all aspects of fiber, textile, and apparel processes, products, and
machinery. These include natural and man-made materials, interaction of
materials with machines, safety and health, energy conservation, and waste and
pollution control. Additionally, students are given experience in plant design
and layout, machine and wet process design and improvement, and designing and
creating textile products. Throughout the textile engineering curriculum, students
take classes from other engineering disciplines including: mechanical,
chemical, materials and industrial engineering.

engineering, and waste water engineering. Civil engineering takes place in
the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the
private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.

engineering which covers processing and packing of food.

WHAT IS MAGIC?
Magic
is the thing that we see or experience without knowing the basic concepts and
steps behind the operation of that thing. Like we see many magicians (say
Dynamo) doing impossible things, what’s the secret behind? They just hide the
basic steps of their performance, so that is why it seems to us like magic.
What are
Magical things?
As
the title say “magical tech”….so what are these magical technologies. These
magical things are your smart-phones, laptops,
TV’s,
smart watches. For you these things might not be magical, as you all are aware of
basic concepts behind their working. But if we bring a person from past (say
form 15th century) by time travel (may be possible in coming future)
and show him a video on smart-phones, so to him watching visuals on piece of
glass may be magical because he is not aware about its working concepts. This
is why I have called these gadgets magical.
Aren't these magical things!
Ancient
technology
Starting
from the past, if we look into the ancient times, we see many magical
phenomenon, like- telepathy, levitation , body transformation, etc. To some of
you, these all might seem as myths. But according to me, these were the 'Self
Tech'. Self Technology means technology developed and built into own mind and
body. To all of us these things might be magical as we are not aware of basic concepts.
But these were the technology available at that time. As we look into the
history, we notice, that in ancient times many almost every tech were built by
meditating on mind and body (like levitation, astral-travel, or telepathy).
Our Magical World.
Now
talking about present gadget technology, everyone is aware of latest
technologies of internet, smart phones etc.
But the invention that changed the
world was computer with user interface
(Built by Steve Jobs and it team apple).
Apple
brought the computers from labs to houses . Now it became very easy for a
person with no skill to operate
computer.
Apple Inc. was first company who brought the concept of mouse, keyboard and user interface.

– With invention of internet, the world became small, with this now people from
all over the world can interact among others easily. The flow of information
was improved at great extent.
The
third invention that changed the behavior of human interaction , was facebook.
With fb social communication between peoples were improved to huge extent. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg
vision of making world more open and connected seems to be coming true through this social network and internet.org(Thing that allows to search for information and provide basic necessary services for free).
The Future Magic:
I would not be writing much future tech. But I
will be showing you some glimpses of them.:
INTERNET OF BRAINS!
In coming future we would connect to the internet not only through our gadgets but also through our brain!
Microsoft HoloLens!
Launch of this tech will convert our virtual world into real. And the dream of Sci-fi tech will also come into real!
facebook Telepathy! Launch of this tech will convert our virtual world into real. And the dream of Sci-fi tech will also come into real!
In coming future the facebook thing woluld be possible through telepathy kind of tech.
Just think how magical it would be to communicate with others through our brains.
Artificial Intelligence!
This field of research is working in improvement of machine interaction with the world.It's just like giving 5 human senses (or more) to the machine.
Infinite!
These were just the glimpses.There are many invention that are going to change world, and this will continue until infinite is reached!
